shaker style

Living in a desirable subdivision with lake privileges and golf course views, this family decided to stay and make improvements to their 1970s colonial home. Our objective was to change the style and add square footage.

The kitchen, family room and office were expanded, allowing the master bedroom to expand above the family room. The stairway was relocated to the center of the house to create a formal entry, and a bedroom and guest quarters were added over the garage.

We used a combination of hip and shed roofs, columns, and weathered trim to create a shaker style exterior. The existing aluminum siding was changed to a field stone wainscot, and bevel and cedar shake siding.
