Our challenge was to create an open space with improved ambient natural light.

Our design build solution re-defines the central hallway of the house by making a subtle change to its location. We shifted the hallway 24" and opened it up to the kitchen. This simple change opens the second floor stairway to the kitchen and floods the kitchen with northern light.

The result is a much larger kitchen, while still maintaining an efficient and protected work triangle.
