big and cozy kitchen

Our clients loved their kitchen, but over time their needs and use of the kitchen had changed. Our goal was to remove the congestion between circulation and the work triangle, and create a space to blend with the original. Structural challenges included multiple ceiling heights and multiple drop beams.

Our design build solution is anchored on three modifications. We added a small 12 square foot addition, relocated an existing half bath, and added structure to "open-up" the space and create a consistent ceiling plane with a dramatic column and island feature.

These three ideas changed everything about the potential of the kitchen, and allowed us to transform a "tight" (but lovable) kitchen into a big and cozy kitchen.
