Energy Efficiency

There are many ways to improve your home energy efficiency. The first step is to understand your existing home performance. We evaluate the existing structure and review 4 key areas:

  • Thermal Envelope
  • Moisture Barrier
  • Mechanical Systems
  • Structural Defects

Methods to Improve Energy Efficiency

Frequently, our clients are unaware that we cut energy use of an existing home to ONE-THIRD of its original amount, and build new homes that use ONE-FIFTH of the energy of an equivalent home built to Michigan building code standards. These are a few of the materials we use to improve a home's energy efficiency:

  • Retrofit insulation
  • Solar panels
  • Geothermal heating systems
  • Insulated concrete forms for additions and/ or new construction
  • Structural insulated panels for additions and/ or new construction
