Resource Efficiency

Construction requires an enormous amount of materials and resources. We manage our raw materials and construction waste stream through the following methods.

Raw Material Management

  • Use renewable resource efficient material
  • Efficient material ordering process which eliminates trips and unnecessary materials
  • Advanced building material, OSB, prefabricated joists, laminated veneer lumber and glue laminated timber
  • Advanced framing techniques to reduce the amount of lumber used, which increases the amount insulation used

Waste Material Management

  • Re-use material, scrap wood can be very effective blocking material. Other salvable items include hardwood floors, cabinets, and countertops
  • Recycle waste material during construction. 60-80% of all construction debris is wood, drywall and cardboard, all of these materials are fully recyclable. We work with our container service on a job by job basis to determine the best way to recycle waste

Material Donations and Tax Credits

  • We work with Habitat for Humanity's Re Store, by coordinating pick-up of salvaged items for re-use. Our client's receive a tax credit for their contributions
