Our home owner's objective was to change this hallway. The existing 'dormitory' hallway was 45 feet long, as well as dark and daunting to their two young children. Our solution to shorten the hallway relocates a bedroom door, which created a true master suite. Furthermore, we created an away space by converting a small radio room into a reading alcove, completely open to the hallway. Combing these two functions into one 'layered' space allows the small reading alcove to be cozy without confinement, and the hallway to be filled with natural light.
