Using two different cabinet styles, colors, and materials creates individual room identities and maximizes utility. Our challenge was to create a kitchen that fit the family's use of it, as well as the style of the existing house. To improve functionality, we redefined the circulation and major appliance locations. We introduced a combination of cherry and maple cabinetry and matched details to existing furniture and plaster coves. The pass-through cabinets allow each room an individual identity, yet maintain the relationship between formal dining room and informal kitchen. |
