Combining a unique skylight feature with standard cabinets and tile surfaces creates a visual balance, as well as an economic balance.

This family wanted to update and enlarge the kitchen to accommodate their needs. They desired a contemporary kitchen that could operate as the center of the house. To create a contemporary interior, we used a monochromatic scheme, and a sweeping pattern of linoleum color inserts provides strong visual impact. Walls and a pantry were removed to allow for more cabinet and countertop space, and a cathedral ceiling with skylights provides more natural light.
