Remodeling in Phases with Forward Design Build Remodel

If you look around your home, there’s probably a laundry list of upgrades you’d love to make. A remodeled kitchen might be first on the list, followed by upgraded bathrooms, but updating the bedrooms would be nice as would a new family-friendly laundry space and convenient pantry redesign. As you can see, the list can go on and on.

For some families, a whole home remodel is the route they want to take. However, that’s not the only option when it comes to renovating an entire home. Remodeling in phases is something many of our clients have done to great success. This option allows you to space out the rooms you have remodeled, allowing for proper budgeting and less household upheaval than placing the entire home under construction all at one time.

Let’s explore how some of our clients remodeled their home in phases to achieve their ideal homes.

First Floor Remodel Followed By Bathroom Facelifts in Ann Arbor

These homeowners initially wanted to update their kitchen, to open up the space, bring in more light and add plenty of warmth with new rich, wooden cabinets. That project expanded into an entire first floor remodel with new flooring added throughout the space. It even went on to include minor updates to the second floor bedrooms, like fresh coats of paint.

That was a few years ago and Kim and her husband Bill continue to enjoy how their home has changed. “It’s been four years since the original remodel and there’s still days where I come in the morning and I’ll say to Bill, ‘Wow, I really like that floor.’ Or he’ll comment about something he really likes about the home. I think it’s been one of the best decisions we have ever made.”

There were only two rooms remaining on Kim’s remodel wishlist, the two second floor bathrooms. So, upon the family’s request, we were called in to update their main bathroom along with their children’s bathroom. For the master bath, we designed the layout, removing the oversized tub area to allow room for both a full-sized walk-in shower and recessed bathtub, plus plenty of custom storage solutions. In the kids’ bathroom, we updated the space to feature a brilliant royal blue vanity that pairs perfectly with the bright, modern hex floor tiles.

Transforming an Ann Arbor Hills Home Inside and Out

But it’s not just room by room that can be done in phases. Our Ann Arbor Hills clients first came to us for a major whole home remodel which included a four-foot bump out to expand the kitchen. This remodel completely updated the look of the interior, from dark woods and closed off spaces, to open, expansive, bright and modern.

To match this gorgeous new look, the homeowners called us back to provide the same modern aesthetic to the exterior of the home. What had been a dark, rustic chalet look, with the help of new decorative siding and a limestone wash for the brickwork, was brought to life in stunning shades of white. We’re thrilled to have helped this family create a completely new look for their home, both inside and out.

Honored to Be Called Back for More Projects

Each time a homeowner that we’ve successfully completed a home remodel for calls us back for another phase of their home’s transformation, we’re grateful to be thought of. It means that we provided just what they were looking for the first time around and they trust us with their future projects.

For example, currently we're working on finishing up the primary bath for an Ann Arbor client who we previously provided with a modern retro kitchen.  And after completing a serene master suite for one family, we’re on to their next phase of construction, completing a new kitchen and first floor remodel. It’s those types of repeat clients which let us know we’re doing everything we can to provide quality and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
