PAY IT FORWARD · SINCE 2019
Our business is only as strong as the community that surrounds it.
We give time, money, and our craft to the community we work in. Right now that includes Food Gatherers, the Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor, and Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor.

BE GOOD CITIZENS
Be good citizens.
We started Forward to design and build homes people love, and to make the process a good experience along the way. Over the years that grew to include the community around us: time, money, and craft given to local organizations, mostly quietly.
Now we talk about it, so these organizations get the attention they deserve, and so more people in Ann Arbor hear their stories and come to the table.
When you work with us, you are part of it too.

REACHING OUR GOAL
Thank you for helping us reach our 2023 Pay It Forward goal.
Thank you to our team, our clients, our trade partners, and to everyone who helped us reach our Pay It Forward goals in 2023. Forward set the goal of donating $25,000 toward a home remodel for a local Ann Arbor family in need, and the Forward team was challenged to contribute another $25,000 in time, funds, or donated items to local charities of their choosing.

HOMES WE HAVE PAID FORWARD
Three families. Three homes.
Along with donating to the organizations that mean the most to us, we put our craft to work for local families who needed it. Here are three of those stories.
GARAGE TO ACCESSIBLE SUITE
A new space for Jeanie & Brian
Following a diagnosis of ALS, Jeanie and Brian were looking to transform their garage into an accessible space where Jeanie's parents could stay while they were in town for treatments. The Forward team and our trade partners stepped up to help turn this space into exactly what they were looking for.

VETERAN HOME UPDATES
Bathroom remodel for Bob, Ann Arbor veteran
One of our goals was to help two veteran families in need of home updates. Bob served as a Radio Controller in the United States Air Force and, to this day, is heavily involved in local Ann Arbor veteran affinity groups. When we met Bob and visited his home, we knew it was a perfect fit. Our team renovated Bob's bathroom, roof, and a few other areas of his home. Thank you to our team and to the local suppliers and trade partners who assisted us on this project.

BASEMENT OFFICE REMODEL
Basement remodel for a growing family
Chelsea and Juan both worked from home during COVID-19, and they quickly found they needed to make their basement a space they could work from. Knowing how much Juan and Chelsea had already given back, Jef and Monica decided to pay it forward.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Nurturing our community.
We believe in nurturing our community, and to that end, Forward Design Build Remodel is honored to give our continued support to these local non-profits.
Our House
Our House supports young people in Ypsilanti who have experienced foster care. Our team held a yard sale fundraiser to help build a hangout space for their Mosaic program.

Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor
The Cancer Support Community offers free support, education and connection to people with cancer and their loved ones. Forward sponsors the annual Amazing Race in their honor.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor
Forward sponsors the Red Shoe Affair each year for RMHC Ann Arbor, and our team has stocked their pantry so families with children in local hospitals have a home away from home.
Humane Society of Huron Valley
HSHV cares for thousands of animals each year through its shelter, clinic and rescue work. Forward supports the mission that gives Washtenaw County pets a second chance.
Ele's Place
Ele's Place is a healing center for grieving children, teens and their families, with peer support groups that help young people through loss. Forward is proud to stand behind their work.
The Mission
The Mission serves neighbors experiencing homelessness from the Jimmy Hill House in Ann Arbor, offering shelter, support and a path toward stability. Forward helps keep that door open.
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
A few moments from along the way.
Fundraisers, pantry drives, race days, and the homes we helped rebuild. Here is some of what Pay It Forward has looked like over the years.
